Christmas is coming, 2016 .... Part Five

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, we had an early Christmas Eve celebration with some family friends at our home.  It was a lot of work getting ready but so much fun once everyone was there and we reminisced and shared our family jokes and stories.  It was so lovely to have a house full of young people, most of whom we have know since babies.  DD even joined in the fun all the way from London via a video chat on What's App - the beauty of the internet!

My dear friend, Linda and myself, "toasting" Christmas with baubles!

DS1 on the right and DS2 on the left, childhood friends Nicola and Julia, all on our deck.

DS2 and Julia have been friends since they were eighteen months old!

Nobu is having a great time!

DS1 and DDIL with the mother of the baby - she loved the ornament that I stitched for Baby Joe.

Lucky me, DS1 did all of the cooking of the main meal  - it was delicious - Roast Pork, baked salmon, roast potatoes, pumpkin bake and beans with salad.  I did the nibbles on my new cheese board (an early Christmas present from TraderVic) made by a friend of mine - isn' it stunning?

... and, of course, flaming plum pudding (sorry too busy flaming it to take a photo).

So, that was our "Christmas Eve" celebrations.

I have been doing a series of these "Christmas is coming" posts, if you would like to check them out, please click the links below:

Isn't Christmastime so much fun?
