Furio in disgrace!

I came home from the supermarket yesterday and as I went up the spiral staircase to my bedroom I noticed this one little feather on the step.  I thought to myself "I wonder where that has come from?"

Then I turned one twist of the staircase and saw this, with Furio looking rather sheepish (but he ran off by the time I got my camera):

Then I got to the top of the stairs and this is what I found ..... feathers everywhere!  But no sign of a bird?.....

Then I went back downstairs to find Furio guarding the corpse (it is in the little blue cat igloo on the left, not in my basket of clean and dry washing, thank goodness)

I think that he had been trying to bring his prize to me as a gift, as our bedroom is at the top of those stairs but luckily I had closed my bedroom door or else our bed would have been covered in feathers!

Needless to say, Furio knows he is in disgrace and he is skulking around the house somewhere, just trying to lay low until he is forgiven.

hugs,

Yikes! Poor bird! And poor kitty to have his gift so unappreciated! Lol Thankfully, I have never been presented a bird that needed killing INSIDE the house. Did get a live lizard though. That was fun. Glad he didn't ruin the bedroom for you.

Oh, doesn't it make the biggest mess? My previous cat loved to bring me bird 'gifts'. Poor Furio, here he is trying to feed his family and you don't want it.

At least you know he's a normal cat.. even though you didn't want his catch! Bit of a mess to clean up! :(

Furio was just trying to tell you he loved you with his gift. Problem is you had to clean up the mess.

Since our cats are indoor cats we've never had this kind of problem. Instead Rupert brings his multi coloured woolly crinkle ball and presents that as his "gift". We've often woken up in the morning to find that we've been sleeping on it. Or step on it when getting out of bed. It must have been fun cleaning up all those feathers. The poor bird.

Oh my! My SIL had a cat that did stuff like that. You got off easy compared to some of the horror stories I've heard!
I hope it wasn't too awful bad for you to clean-up.

Oh dear, a present I would rather not have. Thankfully our two cats don't have the brains between to catch anything...not even a cold....lol.

my cat used to go outside, always through my bedroom window... the birds I've found next to my bed in the morning before I got up... Luckely I've never stepped on one... I wasn't too happy when he brought my hamsters upstairs... they were still alive but still...

That is so funny how the one single solitary feather was the preview of the carnage upstairs! LOL

I'm sure Furio was trying to bring his mum a nice present. A cery good thing you shut the door to the bedroom. My boys went through a stage of taking birds into the bath & shower, easier to clean up, but very naughty! Tracee xx
